PSI13.3.22 - Withdrawal from Service: Deferred Benefits - Mixed Benefits - Contracted-Out Schemes

Contracted-out schemes may only permit a refund of contributions in respect of pre-contracted- out service or contributions in excess of the GMP or protected rights (see PSI13.2.1). Mixed benefits may therefore arise where refunds are made in the above circumstances, and a preserved pension is deferred for an early leaver's service in a contracted-out scheme with a GMP or protected rights.
