PSI11.1.12 - Benefits on Death in Service:
General - Continuation of Cover Following Redundancy
-
(This archived guidance relates to HMRC discretionary
practice before the 6th April 2006. For current guidance on
Registered Pension Schemes see the Registered Pension Schemes
Manual)
You may occasionally be asked whether, in a scheme which
provides death in service benefits only, members who are made
redundant may continue to be covered for death in service benefits
for a period following their redundancy. You may allow such
continuing provision through the scheme at the pre-redundancy level
for a period of up to two years following redundancy.
