Some employees are members of more than one scheme of the
employer. If such an employee leaves service within the age range
mentioned in
PSI10.1.3, he or she may, if the rules
permit, be given immediate benefits from one or more schemes and
deferred benefits from the other(s). (see
PSI25.2.2 regarding the
payment of benefits in the form of income drawdown). If maximum
benefits on that basis are being provided, no further benefits can
accrue but the deferred benefits may be increased in accordance
with
PSI13.3.21.
Note that employees who are members of AVC/FSAVC schemes may
(subject to the scheme rules) draw their AVC benefits at any time
between the ages of 50 and 75 regardless of whether they leave
service or retire - see
PSI25.3.1
