A Friendly Society may with the approval of the Registrar of
Friendly Societies conduct group insurance business relating to the
establishment of pension schemes. But the legislation governing
these Societies prevents them from making a contract with anyone
other than a "member". Both employer and employees can be "members"
of a Friendly Society.
