PAYE64013 - employment maintenance: employment history: format 1 advisory messages (Action Guide)
When you use Function MR Format 1 you may see the following
advisory message - ‘Total cumulative pay and tax from
employment no .Pay…. Tax…. - Check to ensure that the
totals correctly reflect all employments’. To deal with this
message follow steps 1 - 6 below.
For details of how to access any of the COP functions use the
[Index of Functions] button on the left of the screen.
- Ensure that the employments are shown in the correct
chronological order
- If they are not in the correct chronological order
- Use Function MR to correct any errors
And then
- Follow steps 3 - 6
- Check the pay and tax details are correctly included in the
total shown
- Use Function TT to check if the taxpayer has underpaid tax, use the week number in which the date the latest employment commenced falls
Note: For more information about using Function TT follow the instructions given in ‘Further Action After Using Function MR (Action Guide)’ at PAYE64021
- If the taxpayer has not underpaid tax (This text has been withheld because of exemptions in the Freedom of Information Act 2000)
- Use Function CD to issue form P6 with the correct code including total pay and total tax
- If the taxpayer has underpaid tax (This text has been withheld because of exemptions in the Freedom of Information Act 2000)
- Use Function CD to
- Issue the correct code on a Wk1 / Mth1 basis if the code in operation needs changing
- Issue form P2 to the taxpayer
- Issue form P6 to the employer if the code has changed
