PAYE64010 - employment maintenance: employment history: function MR


Function MR is used when you want to view details of main employments held by the taxpayer in the current year or the six previous years.

You must enter the year you want to view in Prime Format.

When the details are displayed to you, you can use MR to

  • Correct or change them

Or

  • Insert or delete employments

You can only do this for the current year or last year's employments and you cannot use MR to insert the latest employment on the record or delete it. If the current or latest employment has been entered under the wrong employer reference, or it should not have been entered at all, you must

  • Use Function ML to enter dummy leaving details to prevent the unnecessary issue of forms P43(T)
  • Use Function MA to transfer the record to the correct employer reference

And then

  • Use Function MR to delete the incorrect entry

You cannot use MR to

  • Change the details on a sub source record. You must use Functions CD or TA instead. If you need to change the date of commencement you must delete the record and set it up again
  • Amend a P204 record. You must use Function MA entering the employer reference in the Details field in Prime Format
  • Delete an employment which has given rise to an unemployment repayment

Format 1 shows you a list of employments for the year up to a maximum number of 50, numbered in reverse order. You can request further details in Format 2.

Use the employments displayed in Function MR to help you restore the cumulative basis in cases where code Week 1 has been operated.

Where full information about pay and tax details are on the record but the code for the current employment is on a Week 1 / Month 1 basis, the screen will display the total pay and tax to be notified to the new employer.

Any one with the appropriate access can use Function MR to

  • View details of the main employments for
  • This year
  • Last year

Or

  • Any of the five years before that
  • Insert or delete a main employment for
  • This year

Or

  • Last year
  • Fill in gaps in employment
  • Correct or change main employment details for
  • The current year

Or

  • Last year

The function is used to record information from any of the following forms

  • P43
  • P43(T)
  • P44
  • P45(1)
  • P45(1A)
  • P45(1)U
  • P45(1)MAN
  • P45(3)
  • P45(3)(SUBS) printouts
  • P46
  • E-Form
  • EKSLU stencil
