PAYE63010 - employment maintenance: filing online: employers: filing online: employers
Some employers submit information to HMRC online using
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) or Online Return & Filing
– PAYE (ORPF). Movements forms submitted using these medias
are P45(1) and (3), P46, pension notifications (PENNOTS) and
requests for Works Number updates. The interface also allows
employers to receive the following forms online on a daily
basis
- P6
- Budget P6
And
- P9
The same Employment Regulations apply to employers who opt to
file their Employment Maintenance forms online as to any other
employer.
Automatic processing updates the taxpayer record in respect
of leaving or change of employment details and will create a new
taxpayer record for a new employment where an existing record
cannot be found.
If the automatic process fails, a printout will be produced
on Early Morning Output (EMO) to prompt you to review the case. All
the details from the rejected data input record will be shown on
the printout with the reason for rejection. This information will
enable you to take the appropriate action.
Once the taxpayer record has successfully been updated, where
there is further action to be taken, further acceptance or advisory
printouts will be produced for you to review.
You
must identify and work these printouts as they are
your first indication that the responsibility for the taxpayer
record is now held in your office. Failure to deal with these
printouts may delay restoration of cumulative coding which could
have Customer Service implications.
