PAYE62055 - employment maintenance: employment changes: printouts for employment changes
When you receive a form P45(3) you will normally use Function
MA to capture details of the new employment.
Acceptance Printouts are produced by the computer in the new
Processing Office when
- Function MA has been used to transfer the record to your Processing Office
And
- The case is one that needs to be reviewed
When you are dealing with forms P45(3) you may decide to review
the circumstances which would be indicated by the printouts after
you have captured the details from the form in advance of the
printout being produced.
If you do this review after the form has been captured you
can destroy the printout when it is produced. Otherwise you must
deal with the printout.
It is important that you review all COP printouts for EDI
employer cases as these will be the first indication that you are
the new responsible Processing Office.
Acceptance printouts
If there is more than one reason why the case must be
reviewed the printout will show all the reasons. The messages shown
should be considered together before deciding what to do.
If any of the messages on the printout are to be dealt with
by the appropriate officer, the appropriate officer must do all the
work on that printout.
Advisory printouts
These printouts are produced where
- The BF signal is set and you need to find the associated papers to send them to the new Processing Office
- The record is no longer a File case and you need to put the file away in the District Record or Retention range
Inhibition printouts
If there is an inhibition on the taxpayer record which
prevents it being moved to the new Processing Office, an inhibition
printout will be produced for review in the old Processing Office
and is handled by the appropriate officer.
You must take action to clear the inhibition so that
processing can continue.
The printout will tell you which signal stopped the record
being moved and will include the message ‘The new employment
commenced on …..(date). They may also include other advisory
messages.
If you are dealing with a print out which also has advisory
messages, clear the reason for the inhibition first before you deal
with the advisory message.
