PAYE62016 - employment maintenance: employment changes: format 4 advisory messages (Action Guide)


When you use Function MA you may see an advisory message on Format 4. To deal with this message follow steps 1 - 6 below. The guide is presented as follows

Action in the new Processing Office

  1. Look for the printout headed LEAVING DETAILS TAX TABLE CHECK PRINTOUT – FROM MA
  2. Send E-Form – Standard Form 41A to contact the previous Processing Office requesting
  • They take up the discrepancy with their employer
  1. Use Function TA to set the BF signal
  2. File the printout in accordance with your office practice to review later

Action in the old Processing Office

  1. On receipt of E-Form pass it to the appropriate officer who will
  • Telephone the employer to find out the reason for the discrepancy
  1. When an explanation is received
  • Send E-Form – Standard Form 41A to the new Processing Office explaining the reason for the discrepancy
