PAYE62011 - employment maintenance: employment changes: function MA


Anyone with the appropriate access can use this function to

  • Transfer a main record to your Processing Office on a change employment. The transfer can be
  • From another Processing Office or Management Unit
  • From within your Processing Office or Management Unit
  • A case where you already have the record at your employer after a break
  • To transfer a main source record to the Unemployment Benefit range
  • To look at or put more information on a P204 record

You can use Function MA when you are dealing with one or more of the following forms

  • P44
  • P45(3)
  • P46 Statement B
  • P45(3)(Subs) data printout (NUBS 2)

You cannot use Function MA to transfer a sub source record.

To use Function MA you must either

  • Enter MA in the FUNCTION field in Prime Format

Or

  • Use the NEXT facility

Formats

There are 5 formats in this Function. They are

Prime Format – used to start the function

Format 1 – used to enter

  • The old and new employer references
  • The date of commencement of new employment

Or

  • Period of unemployment in Unemployment Benefit cases

Format 2 – used to

  • Show you details from the taxpayer record in the old Processing Office
  • Enter details of the new employment

Or

  • Period of unemployment
  • Request transfer of the record

Format 2A – You may also get Format 2A in place of Format 2 to

  • Tell you that the NO MVT or INSP ONLY signal is set in the old Processing Office
  • Enter details of the new employment

Or

  • Period of unemployment
  • To request transfer of the record

Format 3 – To look at or insert more information on a P204 record

Format 4 – To tell you that the tax deducted shown on form P45(3) does not agree with the tax tables

Format 5 – To tell you the transfer has taken place or to tell you that a P204 record has been created
