PAYE24041 - employer records: employer EMO printouts: employer corres name / address notification (Action Guide)


To deal with an ‘Employer Correspondence Name / Address Notification’ follow steps 1 - 4 below.

For details of how to access any of the Employer Business Service functions use the [Index of Functions] button on the left of the screen.

  1. Use Function VIEW EMPLOYER NOTES and the employer record pad to review the information recorded
  • If the information recorded or your local knowledge suggest the new details are correct, go to step 4

Otherwise

  • Go to step 2
  1. Notify Debt Management & Banking (DMB) that no change to the correspondence details has been made and the evidence on which it was based
  2. Use Function AMEND EMPLOYER NOTES to record your actions and then file the papers in the employer record pad
  3. Where you have no grounds to question the information provided by DMB
  • Use Function AMEND EMPLOYER SUMMARY to enter the correspondence name details if appropriate on the Amend Payroll & Correspondence Details screen

And

  • Select the [Search] button to access Function ADDRESS SEARCH to either
  • Match the address with an address held on the Post Office’s Postal Address File (PAF) and store that address on the employer record

Or when no match can be made

  • Enter the address provided manually

Note: An entry must always be made in the Address field. However it may not be necessary to complete the Name field, for example, where the employer may want correspondence to be sent to his home address
