PAYE24021 - employer records: employer EMO printouts: deceased amendment notification (Action Guide)


To deal with a ‘ Deceased Amendment Notification’ follow steps 1 and 2 below.

For details of how to access any of the Employer Business Service functions use the [Index of Functions] button on the left of the screen.

  1. Use Function AMEND EMPLOYER INDICATORS to set the DECEASED indicator on the employer record

Notes:

When you use this function to set the DECEASED Indicator you must enter a ‘Date Notified’, which is the date you where notified that the employer died, and if known the ‘Date of Death’

It is important to update the Employer Name to include ‘Personal Representative of ………..’ after setting the DECEASED indicator

  1. Send a memo to the Self Assessment section to advise them that the sole trader has died

Note: No further action is required at this stage. You will need to await receipt of further information from other offices before ceasing the employer record
