PAYE24015 - employer records: employer EMO printouts: cess’n / canc’n date rejection / mag media set
An Early Morning Output (EMO) rejection printout
‘Cessation / Cancellation Date Set On EBS Rejected By
COP As Magnetic Media Signal Set On Record’ is
produced advising you that a mismatch has taken place between the
Employer Business Service (EBS) and COP employer records.
This will indicate
- A cessation or cancellation date has been entered on the EBS employer record
And
- Magnetic Media indicators (signals) MTL (Magnetic Tape List) or MTP6 (Magnetic Tape P6) were still set on the COP employer record
You should ensure that you review your COP employer record
prior to entering either a cancellation date or cessation date on
the EBS record as this will avoid this situation arising.
Magnetic Media signals or indicators can only be set or
removed by the Processing Centre who set these on the COP employer
record.
The cancellation or cessation of an employer record can only
be done on the EBS employer record. It is not possible to update
the COP record at the same time, therefore if these signals are not
removed prior to entering a cancellation or cessation date, then a
mismatch will arise.
You will need to take remedial action to align both employer
records to ensure the correct position is held on all computers.
Note: For years 2004/2005 and later
all employers will complete P35. A separate P35MT
for employers who use Magnetic Media will no longer be required.
The P35MT, P35ALSO and NOP35MTREM indicators should not be entered
on any record after April 2004 and will be withdrawn in April
2005.
