PAYE14085 - coding: coding functions: function CH
COP Function CH (Coding History) shows details of code
changes and freehand notes for a particular year. It can be used to
help you
- Deal with enquiries or complaints
- Decide if the cumulative code basis can be restored
- Reconcile the result of a calculation or informal adjustments
Code type DUP
Where Function CD is used to issue a duplicate P2, CH will
show the type as DUP and the date the duplicate form P2 was issued.
The issue of a duplicate P6 will not create a coding record.
Viewing a freehand note
Where for any issued code a freehand note was included, a
NOTE field will appear in Format 1.
To view a freehand note, enter ‘Y’ in the NOTE
field.
You cannot enter Y
- In more than one NOTE field
Or
- If Y is shown in the CONTINUE field
To return to Format 1
- Enter ‘Y’ in RETURN FORMAT 1? Field
Otherwise
- Leave blank
Deletion strategy
For years CY-2 to CY-6, only the last code for the year will
remain on the record where
- The year is cleared
And
- The APPEAL signal is not set
Where this is a NOTOP code, the last code issued to the employer will also remain on the record.
