PAYE104045 - taxpayer records: citizen identification record: form P217 issue
Form P217 is issued to the taxpayer advising him or her of
the new NINO, unless issue is inhibited, when the NICO Customer
Validation Unit (CVU) uses
- TBS Function AMEND NINO
- TBS Function MERGE TAXPAYER
Both functions allow CVU to inhibit issue if required.
Form P217 will show details of the Organisation Unit
responsible for the taxpayer.
Issue of form P217 is automatically inhibited in any of the
following circumstances
- The taxpayer only has a nominated (correspondence) address, but it is marked as No Longer Used or RLS
- The taxpayer has
- A nominated (correspondence) address, but it is marked as No Longer Used or RLS
And
- A base (home) address, but it is marked as RLS
- The taxpayer only has a base (home) address, but it is marked as RLS
- No address is present on the record for the taxpayer
- The taxpayer is deceased
- The taxpayer has an acting capacitor (MCOTP signal is set on COP)
- A Special Output indicator is set on the taxpayer record
- Output Audio
- Output Braille
- Output Large Print
- Output Welsh
TBS Functions AMEND NINO and MERGE TAXPAYER draw the attention of the operator to the presence of a Special Output indicator, so that arrangements for the special output can be made. NICO Customer Validation Unit will refer a manually prepared form P217 to the Welsh Unit or the Visually Impaired Media Unit, for them to translate into the required format, and to issue the notification.
