PAYE103047 - Individual records: maintain individual details: non CESA: insert agent details (Action Guide)

When notified of new agent details, follow steps 1 - 5 below. This guide is presented as follows

Initial action

1. Select Agent in the Navigation Menu in the Individual Summary screen

2. Select the [Insert] button to go to the Insert Agent screen and enter the new agent name, client reference and contact details in the appropriate fields
3. Enter address details as per SPD 4b (available on the Customer Operations Guidance Gateway) - but see section ‘Agent Address Details’ at PAYE103025 and PAYE103045 
  Note: The Country field will default to ‘Select’ so you will need to select the appropriate country from the drop down menu before the postcode field is enabled.
4. Select the [Submit] button to record the new agent details on the computer system
5. Update Contact History
  Notes:
a. When entering agent details on the PAYE Service please ensure that you do not enter any characters that are not alpha numeric. If you do you will receive an error message (this includes the client reference field).
b. If the individual already has an agent without a ceased flag and end date which has been received from SA, then you will not be able to enter details on the computer system as there is already an agent in place. If the details of this agent need to be updated this should be done on SA by the Agent Maintainer.
c. If there is no live SA agent present but the agent has no end date and ceased flag you will need to cease the current agent before you can set up a new one.
