PAYE102015 - taxpayer records: finding a taxpayer record: COP function TR

Anyone with the appropriate access can use COP Function TR (Tracing Records) to

• Trace a record held in your region

But only if

• You know the NINO

Or

• Temporary Reference number

Do not use COP Function TR where

• You think the record you want to trace is outside your region

Or

• You want to trace a Schedule D or Claims record, instead

• You want to trace an employer reference, instead

You should also use COP Function TI in cases where you do not know the NINO or Temporary Reference number, but you do have other information, such as the address.
