The technical guidance on Marking used to be contained in
X-27 Mineral Oils which this guidance (HCOTEG) now replaces.
The purpose of this section is to give officers enough legal
and technical information in order to be able to carry out their
oils assurance activities and to be able to make routine decisions
on the marking and control of oils.
However, as some of these decisions will be concerned with
the return of ‘contaminated’ or waste oils, this
section should be read in conjunction with other guidance contained
in X-99: Assurance : Waste Oil ( currently being written ).
