ODG02050 - Guidance for official drivers: Authorised use of official/hire vehicles

Official/hire vehicles are provided for authorised official business journeys and may only be used for this purpose. In accordance with Treasury guidance, the definition of an official business journey is:

“any journey required to enable an officer to carry out their official duties on Departmental business”.

Official drivers should ensure that any journey undertaken in an official/hire vehicle is with the prior authority of their immediate managers.
