RLS Marker (Info)
The presence of a Returned Letter Service ( RLS) marker will inhibit the issue of any Annual Declarations and Award Notices.
The removal of the RLS marker will automatically prompt the issue of any Annual Declarations or notices, which have been selected for issue.
Attempts will be made to try and establish an address for an RLS claimant. Follow the guidance in Claimant / Appointee RLS Annual Declaration.
An entry will be made on the ‘Household RLS’ Work List when the computer tries to issue a notice on a claim with an RLS marker. This entry will remain on the Work List until the RLS marker is removed.
If a response from the claimant(s) resolving the RLS
- Is received before the 27th December of the relevant year, the computer will automatically prompt the issue of any previously inhibited Annual Declarations and Award Notices
- Is received after the 27th December of the relevant year, you must clerically issue any previously inhibited Annual Declarations
