A claimant may tell you that their cashcheque is missing, lost, stolen or damaged and cannot be returned
Where a claimant reports to a Contact Centre or Enquiry Centre
- A missing cashcheque
Or
- A cashcheque has been received but they are unable to cash it
They must
- Complete a TC241 declaration form
The TC241 is a declaration stating that
- If the claimant does receive or recover the cashcheque they will not attempt to cash it
And
- The payment will be returned to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC)
The missing or unable to cash cashcheque cannot be replaced until the form TC241 has been completed and signed by the claimant and received by the TCO
