Disputed Overpayment Reviews (Info)

There is an Action Guide for this subject, click on 'Next Page' to access it

Use this guidance when a claimant requests a review of a previous Disputed Overpayment (DOP) decision.

The claimant may contact you in writing to request a review of a previous DOP decision.

You must ensure that the claimant has provided you with the further evidence you will require to conduct a review on the correspondence. If they have not provided further evidence, you must notify the claimant that more information is required before a review of the original decision can be undertaken.

Where the claimant has requested a second or subsequent review and no new evidence has been supplied, you will not need to conduct a further review.

If the referral for a review is from the Customer Support Unit (CSU), then once you have considered whether a further review is necessary you will need to return the case to CSU so that they can reply to the claimant.
