Personal Cheque Received - Valuables Team (Info)
There is an Action Guide for this subject, click on 'Next Page' to access it
The Tax Credit Office (TCO) may receive a personal cheque because a person believes
- They have been overpaid tax credits
Or
- They have been paid incorrectly
In the Valuables Team, you will receive cheques through the Tax Credit Office (TCO) post room.
Note: The majority of the Inland Revenue’s banking is done at Accounting & Payments Service (A&PS) Cumbernauld. Cheques are cashed and held in the Overpayment and Summary System (OAS) until they can be allocated to a household record. Any correspondence relating to a claimants claim or award received with a cheque is separated from the cheque and sent to the appropriate TCO office
