Incorrectly Logged Award Notice (AG)

To deal with an incorrectly logged returned award notice, consider steps 1 – 5 below.

1Use Function VIEW AWARD and go to the Award Summary screen. On the Award Summary screen
  • Check if there is an entry in the Return By field

Note: A date will be displayed in the Return By field when the claimant is required to sign the award notice

  • If a signature is not required, go to step 2
  • If a signature is required, go to step 4
2Check the award notice for any indication that the claimant disputes the decision, or the information indicates a change of circumstances
  • If there is a dispute or a change of circumstances, go to step 3

Otherwise

  • Discard the notice in confidential waste and take no further action
3Where the claimant indicates on the award notice that they
  • Dispute the decision as a result of a change of circumstances
  • Follow the guidance in Changes to amend the details and take no further action in this Action Guide
  • Dispute the decision for any other reason
  • Follow the guidance in Changes to correct the claim and take no further action in this Action Guide
4If a signature is required
  • Complete form TC618

And

  • Send the form TC618 and the award notice to the claimant asking them to sign and return the notice

Note: If the notice is disputed for any reason other than a change of circumstances, follow the guidance in Changes

5Use Function MANAGE REMINDERS, go to the Select Reminder Cycle screen and select the relevant ceased reminder cycle. You will be taken to the Manage Ceased Reminder Cycle screen. On the Manage Ceased Reminder Cycle screen
  • Click on the Incorrectly Logged checkbox

Note: This will ensure that the reminder cycle will be reset and the appropriate reminder issued if a reply has not been received by the reminder due date
