Checking Unmatched Returned Award Notice (Info)
There is an Action Guide for this subject, click on 'Next Page' to access it
When using Function LOG RETURNED AWARD NOTICE to log the receipt of a returned award notice, the computer attempts to match the details you enter with a current valid claim. If it cannot match the entry, the computer will redisplay the details on the Unmatched Entries screen indicating that you have been unsuccessful in logging the returned award notice.
Note: When the computer has made a successful match, it will not appear as an entry on the Unmatched Entries screen and the returned award notice will have been logged
Where an award notice cannot be matched you must check that the details you entered from the award notice are correct and amend any details that you have entered incorrectly.
Note: When entering the details, always use the barcode reference number first
If the original details you entered were correct
- You should use alternative details in an attempt to make a successful match
Or where that still does not find a match
- Create an entry on the ‘Failed Logged Return Award Notices’ Work List
Note: A Work List item cannot be created until the NINO(s) and the award issue date have been entered. If the claimants’ NINO(s) are not available, you should attempt to trace them
