If ‘Welsh’ is shown in the Special Needs field on the Application Information screen in Function VIEW AWARD or Function VIEW APPLICATION, you must take no further action on the claim. 

Contact with the claimant, either by letter or telephone, should on no account be made in English.

Instead, transfer the case to the Welsh Unit Management Unit by following the guidance in Transferring A Work Item. See the MU Table for the correct MU number
