Note: Claimants serving a prison sentence are not treated as being in remunerative work and so this will not apply to them

Where the claimant has reported this work change, you must establish if they are now in receipt of IS, income based JSA, income-related ESA or PC (formerly known as MIG) and update their claim accordingly

Note: You must obtain confirmation from the claimant that their JSA is either income or contribution based. If their benefit is ESA, you must confirm if it is either income-related or contributions based

Any change of circumstances, you make must be applied, one at a time. Where the claimant has informed you of several changes that have occurred at different times, apply the changes in sequence, starting with the oldest change first.
