A claimant may contact you to confirm that their child will be continuing in full-time, non-advanced education (FTNAE).

• Access the CBO/TCO intranet homepage
   
• Select ‘F’ in the A-Z box on the left hand side of the screen
   
• Select 'Full Time Education course details (CBO Service and TCO Service)'

The computer will automatically pay CTC for a child who qualifies, up to 31 August following their 16th birthday.

When a child has reached 16 years of age, if the claimant fails to notify us before the following 31 August whether that child will be continuing in FTNAE, payments for that child will automatically stop.

If a claimant tells us in the 2 weeks prior to 1 September that their child is continuing in FTNAE, the change will show on the computer.

If the change is notified any earlier than this, it will not appear on the computer straight away. The change will still be recognised by the computer and the award will be re-profiled overnight on 1 September. The change will show on the computer from 2 September.

You will be able to enter the change to include an FTNAE date on the computer from 17 April (138 days in advance). Regardless of when the change is notified, the new award notice will only be sent out from 2 September .

If eligibility is ended for a Young Person because the claimant did not tell us they were continuing in FTNAE, you can correct the details depending on the status of the claim as follows

• If you are told before PY is finalised, apply the correction re-starting eligibility from the date it ended, i.e. 01/09/XXXX
   
• If details were received before PY was finalised or as part of the renewals process but the correction was not done at that time, correct the details re-starting eligibility from the date it ended, i.e. 01/09/XXXX
   
• If you are told after PY has been finalised apply the correction but only back to the beginning of CY, i.e. 06/04/XXXX
