Adding A Childcare Provider (Info)

The TC600 tax credits claim form for the tax year 200 6 / 200 7 only has space for the claimant to enter details of 1 childcare provider. There is a supplementary form supplied to the claimant with the TC600 in order to give details of up to two further childcare providers. This form is called a TC600A. Usually the TC600 and TC600A will be received together and scanned by Rapid Data Capture (RDC) to capture the information.

In certain situations it may not be possible to capture the details of the extra childcare providers by RDC. For example

  • Where the claimant has not used the TC600A and has simply sent a hand written letter
  • Where the TC600A is sent back separately from the claim form

Or

  • Where the TC600A has been separated from the TC600 when we have received them

Where this situation arises you will need to manually capture the details of the extra childcare providers. You need to do this to ensure that the correct tax credits payments are made to the claimant. To do this, follow the guidance in Childcare Changes And Assessing Childcare

Note: The TC600A does not request details of which child the childcare is in respect of, or the date the childcare started. This information is required to manually capture the details of a new childcare provider. Because of this you will need to contact the claimant to obtain the relevant information
