View Functions (Info)

In many older Revenue computer systems it is not possible to access a record to view or update when another operator is using that record.

The NTC business services do not have that restriction. This means that if you have the appropriate user role you can view a record at the same time as someone else is currently updating that record. For example, you may be using a view function and at that time a colleague, within your Organisation Unit or elsewhere, is currently using an update function which affects the record you are looking at.

The update action may be irrelevant in the circumstances that caused you to view the record. However, that will not always be the case.

For this reason, it is important that if you need to take any action on a case

• You always check the record before proceeding

• Where another office is likely to work on that record, and any action they take may have a bearing on your own action, check with that office before proceeding
