NTC Business Services (Info)

The NTC system is made up of a number of business services.

The availability and purpose of each business service available at April 2003 is briefly explained below. For further information

Application Maintenance Business Service (AMBS)

The Application Maintenance Business Service is available to Tax Credits Processing Office staff and the Rapid Data Capture team in Netherton. Only the ‘AMBS Capturer’ user role is available at Netherton.

The functions available in this service support the processing of claims, payments and awards, including

  • Amending claims
  • Capturing claims
  • Handling appeals
  • Logging and capturing renewals
  • Logging returned awards and renewals
  • Maintaining claimant and household information and signals, including processing changes of circumstance
  • Maintaining claimant payments, including
  • Handling payments received
  • Issuing payments
  • Making repayments
  • Re-allocating payments
  • Managing breakdown of Payment Via Employer
  • Managing clerical verification failures
  • Managing and reviewing appropriate Work Lists
  • Re-issuing awards, renewals and rejection notices
  • Security checks on payments

Application Support Business Service (ASBS)

The Application Support Business Service is available to Enquiry Centre and Contact Centre staff. The functions available in this service support

  • Capturing claims
  • Handling changes of circumstance
  • Handling tax credits enquiries
  • Re-issuing award, renewal and rejection notices

Compliance Business Service (CBS)

The Compliance Business Service is available in offices that handle claimant compliance. The functions available in this service supplement the support provided by the Data Mart

  • Amending claims and awards
  • Conducting claimant compliance reviews (in-year and post year-end)
  • Identifying new compliance cases and referring them to a Compliance Officer
  • Maintaining claimant compliance signals
  • Managing claimant payments
  • Managing compliance verification failures
  • Managing and reviewing appropriate Work Lists

Employer Funding Business Service (EFBS)

The Employer Funding Business Service is available to Accounting & Payments Service staff and to Employer section and Employer Compliance staff in Local Services Processing Offices.

The functions available in this service support the capture and maintenance of employer funding applications, including

  • Capturing funding applications
  • Checking payments selected for review
  • Handling funding failures
  • Making emergency payments
  • Managing employer funding
  • Managing funding re-allocations
  • Managing Work Lists
  • Recording failed payments
  • Recording post payment actions
  • Reviewing and clearing appropriate Work Lists
  • Reviewing employer accounts

View Business Service (VBS)

The View Business Service is available to offices that need a view only access to NTC records for employers and / or claimants. For example
