Access To Records (Introduction)

Access to the system

Access to each NTC business service is controlled

  • Centrally, by setting up Organisation Units (OU) and allocating the appropriate service or services to the OU
  • Locally, by allocating access rights to individual operators within the OU. This is done by allocating user roles. Operators may be allocated more than one user role

Access to each NTC business service is through Interim Single Sign On and user roles.

On your Desktop screen

  • Select the Interim Single Sign On icon and double click on that icon. The ISS Desktop will be displayed
  • Select the required NTC folder and click on that folder. For example, ‘NTC AMBS’. Your OU and the NTC user role(s) available to you will be displayed
  • Select and click on the required user role. You will be taken to the FUNCTION MENU

Access to functions

The toolbar menu of the FUNCTION MENU shows the function groups (work areas) available to you. For example

  • Claim
  • Award
  • Employer

To select the required function

  • Click on the required work area. Those functions available under your user role will be displayed in an alphabetical list

To make your selection from the list either

  • Double click on the line showing the function that you want and you will be taken to that function

Or

  • Click once on the line showing the function you want. That line will be highlighted

And then

  • Click once on the [OK] button to be taken to the function

Navigation between functions

The majority of functions can be accessed from the FUNCTION MENU. Having completed your work in a function you will normally return to the FUNCTION MENU to select the next function that you require.

Some functions can only be accessed from within another function. For example, you

  • Are in the AMBS Maintainer user role
  • Have used Function CAPTURE APPLICATION to capture a claim

And

  • Want to reject the claim

Function REJECT APPLICATION is not available in the FUNCTION MENU, but you can access it direct from Function CAPTURE APPLICATION.
