Trace Individual (Info)

When you are capturing a new claim using Function CAPTURE APPLICATION the computer will try and trace an individual on the database with the following information you have supplied
- Name
And
- Date of birth
Where a match cannot be found you must try and find a match using additional search criteria in Function TRACE CITIZEN. In this function you can try and trace the individual on HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) databases.
Note: You will only be able to do an external search if you have access to the AMBS Specialist Tracer User Role
To trace the claimant use one of the following combinations until a match is found
- Full surname and date of birth
- Postcode and first character of the surname followed by a #
- Full address and first character of the surname followed by a #

If you are still unable to trace the individual using the above
- You must continue to capture the claim
- The case will be entered on the ‘Verification Failures’ Work List where further checks will be made
