- Enter the
NINO in the Key Entry Data
screen
- If you are taken to the Select Household screen
- Click on the correct
household that the appeal
is being made against to highlight it
Note: Use the information in the correspondence
(including the date it was received) to help you to decide which
household to select. Where a claimant is appealing against a
particular notice, the household start date will be before the date
that the notice was issued
- Click on the [OK] button. You will be taken to the Select S17
Period screen
- Click on the
finalised award that the
appeal is being made against to highlight it
- Click on the [OK] button. You will be taken to the Current
Position screen
- If you are taken straight to the Select S17 Period screen
- Click on the finalised award that the appeal is being made
against to highlight it
- Click on the [OK] button. You will be taken to the Current
Position screen

| 2 | When you are taken to the
Current Position screen, if the Current Signals screen
- Displays, check if the Terminated signal
is set
- If it is set, go to step 5
- If it is not set, go to step 3
- Does not display, there are no signals set
on the claim, go to step 3
Note: The Current Signals screen will display
automatically if a signal is set

| 3 | In the Current Position
screen, does the Status field show ‘No entitlement’ for
the tax year following the award that has been finalised?
Note: The Status field is found on the left hand
side of the screen about half way down. It is not the Status
column, shown in the Declarations box

| 4 | Use Function VIEW AWARD
and go to the Select Award screen to check if any of the award
types for the claim you are working are S.O.A. (Statement of
Account (SOA))
- If one or more of the award types are SOA,
go to step 5
- If there is no SOA award type, the claim
has not been terminated as a result of renewals processing.
Continue with your appeals action as normal

- Does the Status field show
‘Terminated Compliance’?
Note: The Status field is found on the left hand
side of the screen about half way down. It is not the Status
column, shown in the Declarations box
- Yes. The claim has not been terminated as a result of renewals
processing. Continue with your appeals action as normal
