NIM41345 - Home Responsibilities: what is HRP
and who qualifies for it: as a carer on Income Support
The Social Security Pensions (Home Responsibilities)
Regulations 1994
If a customer is:
- receiving Income Support, but
- does not need to register for work because
they are caring for someone who is:
- sick or disabled,
- and receiving disability payments,
they will be awarded HRP for each complete tax year. This is
done automatically and the HRP may go towards their State Second
Pension.
