NIM39320 - National Insurance Numbers (NINOs): Registration of a new NINO: Juvenile Registration: exclusions from the automatic process

Some young people may not be included in the automatic registration process. See NIM39305.

Providing they are over age 15 years and 9 months and under 20 years of age, they should contact the Juvenile Registration Helpline on 0191 225 7006. NI Registration section may be able to issue them with a NINO on completion of Form CA3499.

Children who have not been part of a Child Benefit claim will need to apply through DWP. For details see NIM39325.

If they are age 20 or over, they will need to apply as an adult through DWP's Jobcentre Plus, see NIM39325.
