NBCG5440 - Dealing with applications: Direct tax clearances dealt with by Local Compliance: Clearances which have by-passed the Southend Clearances Team

All clearances worked in LC should be sent to the Southend Clearances Team and captured in EF.

If you receive a clearance application directly from the customer or adviser, you should:

1. contact the Southend Clearances Team using the contact points at NBCG8700 so they can allocate a unique reference number to the clearance
2. send a copy (not the original) of the application to the Southend team by taxpost direct, so they can scan the clearance into EF and refer it to the Peterborough screening team
3. await instructions from the Peterborough screening team.
