INS10403 - Monitoring VAs
The monitoring teams
VAS monitors:
- Cases which had been dealt with by the former
Enforcement Office Voluntary Arrangements Unit or by local Revenue
Network Recovery Offices before 29 January 2001.
These cases have red file covers, and the Monitoring Team
dealing with these is known as ‘The Red Monitoring
Teams’. (

- All VAs received from 29 January 2001. These have
light blue file covers and so are dealt with in ‘The Blue
Monitoring Team’. (
INS10405)
- From April 2003 the files are coloured pink.
Monitoring teams pursue annual reports, dividends, and press
debtors for post-VA returns and liability. Non compliance cases are
passed to the Post-Monitoring Support Team (PMST). (
INS10413).
PMST encourages post-VA compliance by
- negotiation, short term time to pay,
variation
- requiring supervisors to file bankruptcy or
winding up petitions or pursuing post arrangement debt by statutory
demand.
