Responsibilities within VAS

HMRC officer grades

consider, discuss and respond to

• internal requests for advice on VAs
• draft proposals
• enquiries from debtors and IPs
• formal proposals for voluntary arrangements or variations to existing arrangements
• nominee/chairman’s reports
• supervisor’s annual reports

and

• brief solicitors on revocation or directions applications and bankruptcy petitions.
• pursue debtors and supervisor about failure to meet obligations under the arrangement and non-payment of post-approval debt.

Officer Grade Managers

• deal with people issues
• provide operational support to the examiners.

Higher Officer Managers

• provide advice on complex operational issues and have a portfolio such as forms design, customer relations, communication or training.

DMB Process & Strategy (Insolvency)

provides dedicated support to VAS

• Higher Officer Technical Support and learning adviser
• Senior Officer Operational policy, process and technical adviser.
