INS9737 - Provision of information to the Insolvency Service (INSS) to assist their investigations of insolvent individuals and companies: By what timescale and in what format must we respond to INSS requests for information?
Timescale
- For requests received from the INSS Public Interest Unit (PIU) you must respond within 15 working days of receipt of the e mail, hard copy of faxed request (these will be for provisional liquidation or Serious Non-compliance cases).
- For all other cases you must respond within 30 working days of the receipt of the e mail, hard copy or faxed request.
In both of the above instances, the response must provide the information relevant to the enquiry or explain why HMRC cannot fulfil that request.

Issue responses to INSS via normal post system.
