Service: Debtor has moved to a known new address

When the debtor has moved within the local Recovery Office area, the Collector attempts to serve the demand at the new address.

But if the new address is in another Recovery Office’s area you may receive

• A telephone call explaining that the papers have been forwarded
• The papers returned for EIS to refer service to the Recovery Office which deals with it.

If you are aware of this

• Make sure that the new Recovery Office amends the statement of service to show, and initial, the appropriate amended details.
