The Taxpayers’ Index is a corporate service that may help
Debt Management & Banking (DMB) caseworkers to obtain a
different address for the taxpayer from that provided in the case
file.
To access this service go to "start" and click on "programs"
and then "single point security". A single click on "SP sign on"
will take you to the "Unisys Sign On " screen.
Open the folder for "Other Corporate Apps" and double click
on the icon "COP 2/CODA".
At "function" insert "ti" and press enter.
On the next screen enter the taxpayer details, as they are
known to you. If the Taxpayers’ Index comes up with the same
address as the last known address you can either move on BT Phone
Disk or liaise with the Inspector dealing with the taxpayers
affairs.
By liaising with the Inspector you may find that the latest
returns/correspondence provides a different address or telephone
number for the taxpayer's home or work.
Alternatively you may decide to review the Inspector's papers
for the taxpayer personally.
(If you are having difficulty tracing the taxpayer would it
be advisable or prudent to consider protective action?)
To return to the main menu to commence a fresh search tab the
cursor to the bottom right hand side of the screen and enter "e".
This service is not generally available and if, as a case
owner, you wish to access it, you should refer to DMB.
