IHTM32042 - Progress reviews: purpose

The purpose of a progress review is to go through the work that has been done on the file to make sure that you have done, and are doing, everything that you should to bring the file to an early conclusion. If you identify areas where, perhaps, things could have been done differently, you should use the review as the opportunity to take that action.

In addition, progress reviews can help

  • identify staff training and development needs in order to enhance the quality of work done
  • assist in identifying technical problems
  • help build team spirit through motivation, encouragement and praise
  • fulfil an audit function

The intention is that the system should be operated positively, rather than in a fault finding manner.
