IHTM30181 - Payment methods: payment by cheque

Payment may be made by cheque to IHT Nottingham. The envelope must be addressed specifically to the cashiers as follows:

• IHT Nottingham - address the envelope to Section K. If the British Document Exchange ( IHTM02141) is used the number is DX 701205 Nottingham 4.

The cheque(s) must be made payable to ‘HMRC only’ and taxpayers must remember to

• put a line through any space left on the ‘Pay’ line
• cross the cheque ‘A/c payee’
• write the full name of the deceased and the date of death on the back of the cheque.
