This database contains information about land in Scotland. But
there are significant differences between this and Registers Direct
(
IHTM09289). The disadvantages are that
the database only contains details of sales transactions as opposed
to gifts and in addition it takes approximately 6 months for new
information to be added to the database. Therefore if you need
information about a very recent gift of Scottish land it would be
better to use Registers Direct. The advantage of using the VOA
Paisley University Database for other enquiries is that the search
is more refined. It is carried out on our behalf by the VOA (
IHTM23002)
(This text has been withheld because of exemptions in the
Freedom of Information Act 2000)
Investigators in Compliance Group in IHT Edinburgh can search
the database by completing and sending form HE1 to RRLT (
IHTM09261) in IHT Edinburgh. RRLT
forward the search request to VOA by e-mail and search results are
returned by e-mail to Mailpoint K. Investigators in IHT Belfast or
IHT Nottingham can search the database by first passing details of
the enquiry to RRLT in IHT Nottingham, who will liaise with RRLT in
IHT Edinburgh.
