You should refer all approaches from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) or the Social Security Agency in Northern Ireland for information immediately to the RRLT ( IHTM09261) with the file if there is one. You should not disclose any information yourself.

The arms of DWP that might approach you include Benefit Fraud Investigation Service (BFIS) in England and Wales; Benefit Investigation Service (BIS) in Scotland and Ireland; BA Security Investigation Service (BASIS) and Matching, Intelligence and Data Analysis Services (MIDAS).

If exceptionally you think the DWP might have information of use in your enquiries, send your file to the RRLT with a note of the information you need and why you need it. The RRLT will approach the DWP on your behalf.
