IHTM09265 - Risk, Research and Liaison Team (RRLT): specified research and Standard Intelligence Pack (SIP)

At the beginning of an enquiry RRLT ( IHTM09261) should normally have carried out standard ( IHTM09263) research. But you can ask for either standard or additional ( IHTM09264) research or a Standard Intelligence Pack to be done at any stage by completing a form RISK 1 or RISK 2.

If during the course of an enquiry you need less than the standard research done, for example a search of the TPI Datamart ( IHTM09281) only you should complete form RISK 1 or RISK 2 specifying which information source you want RRLT to interrogate.

If you want RRLT to provide all the information they can find on a particular case by undertaking all of the standard or additional researches. They can provide this in the form of a SIP, which can be requested using form RISK 1 or RISK 2 in the following circumstances

• when you open a full enquiry
• on receipt of an informer’s letter (whether there is a file or not)
• as part of a project
• in a domicile case (in response to a referral from TG
• where no IHT400 has been received and would like an estimate of the likely capital value of an estate.
