IHTM08015 - The work of TSB: TSB's role within IHT

The work of IHT Group is divided into two main areas:

• Policy
• Operations

Bridging these two is the technical group.

Within the Operations side the work is divided into three:

• Processing
• Enabling
• Compliance

In TSB the account amendment work ( IHTM08012) is part of enabling. By putting right errors in the IHT accounts, and explaining to taxpayers how to get their accounts correct, we are helping to reduce the number of IHT accounts that cannot be accepted on receipt. TSB also provides feedback to enable us to improve the forms and guidance provided to taxpayers to explain and fulfil their IHT obligations.
