IHTM07001 - Initial Processing: summary

This section tells you about the initial processing of accounts and general file creation. It gives you guidance on how an account is dealt with when it first arrives in the office. It also tells you how the postroom decide where it needs to go and follows the process through FACET (IHTM07051) and Pre Grant to Risk Assessment. This includes how each of the ALF (IHTM03291), Compass (IHTM31101) & SAGE (IHTM31851) records are set up and how any cheques received are banked and linked to each case.

The role of Repayment section is also explained detailing the processing of Sect 6’s. The role of Helpline is also defined in this section.
