IHTM05028 - Is an account required?: security (All UK locations)

There is no process whereby the probate registry tells us that a grant ( IHTM05001) has been issued. This means that we do not record the date and place of grant on ALF ( IHTM03291) or the paper file.

(This text has been withheld because of exemptions in the Freedom of Information Act 2000)

In Nottingham if you need to know the date and place of a grant, you should consult the calendar of grants. The calendar is available on the public drive in ‘Information Sources\Calendar of Grants’. This contains details of all deaths on or after 8 November 1998 where a grant was issued in England and Wales. You will need to use microfiche copies of the calendar for deaths before this date. The library in Nottingham has a full set of the microfiche.
